The atmosphere in Kwara State was filled with excitement, gratitude, and a renewed sense of purpose as members of the Adenike Kayode Fabunmi International Foundation (AKFIF) from different parts of Nigeria and across the globe gathered both physically and virtually to celebrate a significant milestone  7 Years of Impactful Journey.

The anniversary celebration was more than just a gathering; it was a reflection of seven years of dedication, service, empowerment, and life-changing interventions that have positively impacted individuals, families, and communities. It was a moment to celebrate achievements, share experiences, strengthen relationships, and reaffirm the Foundation’s commitment to creating sustainable opportunities for people from all walks of life.

One of the major highlights of the celebration was the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Workshop, carefully organized to equip members with practical skills that can serve as reliable sources of income. Participants received hands-on training on the production of liquid soap, doughnuts, and buns, with experienced facilitators guiding them through every stage of the process.

The training was highly interactive and engaging, providing participants with not only the technical knowledge required to produce these products but also insights into how these skills can be transformed into profitable small-scale businesses. The workshop demonstrated that economic empowerment begins with access to knowledge and practical skills, and it reinforced the Foundation’s belief that every individual deserves the opportunity to become financially independent.

This initiative is a direct reflection of the vision and mission of Mrs. Adenike Fabunmi, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Adenike-Kayode Fabunmi International Foundation. Her passion for community development, youth empowerment, poverty reduction, and capacity building continues to drive the Foundation’s numerous interventions and programs. Through her leadership, AKFIF has consistently provided support systems that help individuals discover opportunities, build confidence, and unlock their potential.

The event officially commenced with an inspiring welcome address delivered by the AKFIF Regional Coordinator from Ogun State, in the person of Mrs Oluwabumi Margaret In her remarks, she warmly welcomed members who had traveled from various locations and those who joined virtually from different countries. She highlighted the significance of the workshop and emphasized the importance of empowering individuals with practical skills that can improve livelihoods and contribute to economic development.

She noted that skills acquisition remains one of the most effective tools for combating unemployment and poverty within society. By equipping people with entrepreneurial skills, communities can become more productive, self-sufficient, and economically stable. She further applauded the convener and leadership of the Foundation for continually initiating impactful programs that address real societal challenges and provide meaningful solutions.

Throughout the training sessions, participants demonstrated enthusiasm, commitment, and eagerness to learn. Members went home with the liquid soap they made during the workshop, while the freshly prepared doughnuts and buns were shared among attendees. Speaking during the event, the Personal Assistant to the CEO, Abayomi Faduyilemi, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all members for their unwavering support, dedication, and active participation. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by members who traveled long distances and appreciated those who joined online from different parts of the world. He emphasized that the Foundation’s success over the past seven years has been made possible through the collective efforts, commitment, and shared vision of its members and stakeholders.

He further encouraged members to continue supporting the Foundation’s mission of empowerment, education, community development, and humanitarian service. According to him, the anniversary celebration serves not only as a reflection on past achievements but also as a reminder of the greater impact that lies ahead.
