
As part of the Adenike-Kayode Fabunmi International Foundation’s (AKFIF) 5th anniversary celebration, the foundation recently organized its first inter-secondary school quiz competition for public secondary schools in Idanre Local Government, Ondo State. This event, held at the OWA Palace on June 13, 2024, underscored the foundation’s commitment to valuing education.


All members of AKFIF were present, with the convener represented by her PA, Faduyilemi Abayomi. He expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to be alive and extended greetings to His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Frederick Adegunle Aroloye, Arubiefin IV (JP), Owa of Idanre Kingdom, for his unwavering support for societal development, especially in education. He also thanked the school principals for their support of the foundation.

Abayomi highlighted that the quiz competition exemplifies AKFIF’s dedication to excellence and innovation in education. The event aimed to foster healthy competition, intellectual curiosity, and ambition among the youth of Idanre Local Government.
The Public Relations Officer of the foundation, Deacon Adewale Seun, served as the master of the program, ensuring the event ran smoothly and engagingly.

Representing the royal father, Mr. Agbelusi commended the foundation and its convener for their efforts in bringing such initiatives to the hometown and encouraged students to always strive for excellence, as opportunities like this may arise anytime.



Seven out of nine invited schools participated: Olofin Anglican Grammar School, Ilemobola Girls Grammar School, Idanre High School, St. Joseph Catholic Grammar School, Methodist High School, Baptist High School, and CAC Grammar School. Each school had two representatives who were tested on Mathematics, English, and General Knowledge.
The Chief Panelist, Mr. Faduyilemi Abayomi, thanked his team members, Mrs. Fabunmi Bunmi, Miss Akinnodi Racheal, Olajide Victor, and Olajide Peculiar, for the successful execution of the competition. He also awarded cash prizes to all participating schools and recognized Miss Treasure as the most outstanding student.


Mr. Abayomi presented a ₦20,000 cheque to Methodist High School representatives, Odode Idanre (second runner-up), a #30,000 cheque to Ilemobola Girls Grammar School representatives (first runner-up), and a ₦40,000 cheque to St. Joseph Catholic Grammar School representatives (winner).

The foundation members also visited the OWA palace to pay homage to Oba (Dr) Frederick Adegunle Aroloye. The first Olori attended to them, appreciating the foundation’s efforts and the success of the competition.
